"Call Me Candle Guy, Simply 'Cause I Am On Fire..."

Just a quick little post to drop some super underground hott remix action to help you ring in February's entrance. I mean, considering the whole 'Valentine's Day' thing, you'd think that February would be a right sexy month filled with kisses, warmth and what have you...instead, it's a cold, hostile 28 days of the year, during which the world turns into a frozen winter wasteland covered in infinite glaciers; occassionally, a lone human scurries frantically to survive as frost eats through their clothes, threatening to snuff out their very existence. That may be hyperbole, but let's be honest: February is a poor time to dedicate to love - we're just trying to stay alive out here! Thankfully, we've got treats like this latest J.T. remix, in the form of an unreleased mix of "My Love" from one of dubstep's newcomers, RUF, hailing from Copenhagen, to help us bring the "SexyBack" to our scene (yea, I said it...what're you gonna do about it?). This track totally puts the swagger back in your step, and, as improbable as the chances of success a dubstep reversion of a Justin Timberlake track may seem on paper, it hangs together extremely well whilst pumping through your speakers. It's nice to hear a producer counterbalancing Timberlake's fey approach to electro-soul with some genuine machismo, not to mention how perfectly Timbaland's flawless synth melodies fit into dubstep's broken futurist aesthetics. In the end, what we're left with is a tangled mass of aquatic keyboards, deep bass hits, and dubbed out Michael Jackson posturing set adrift in clouds of reverb and echo. It's all really quite wonderful and maybe makes me want to do the robot just a little bit...
