"And If I'm Sued Into Submission, I Can Still Come Home To This..."

It goes without saying that the hype surrounding the forthcoming LCD Soundsystem LP has reached epic proportions. I mean, it's James Murphy for Christ's sake. Every track the guy touches turns into hipster gold, imbued with his spaced disco genius and boundless scene cred. The "45:33" mix he cobbled together from snippets culled from the studio floor and unreleased material was a nice reminder of how wonderful their first singles were, but it didn't quite make up for the lack of a new album proper. Well, for us here at fish.cloud at least, the wait has ended! "Sound Of Silver" has made its way into our hearts, minds and iPods, and we couldn't be more impressed. One track in particular, the understated "All My Friends," is an absolute masterpiece. It's not just good for the DFA, because, frankly, it blows everything they've ever even thought about doing out of the water - this track is just an outright classic. Based around phased piano chords รก la Steve Reich and injected with a healthy dose of Neu!-esque Kraut propulsion, synthesizers pulse with solar energy and Murphy's ruminative vocal just absolutely drips with seratonin as the song hits peak after ecstatic peak. This is going to turn into gushing on our part, so we're going to shut up now. You just listen to this, party up and feel better about your life.

And if that wasn't enough a party for you, here's a remix of "North American Scum" by Philly's own Ian St. Laurent. It doesn't deviate too much from the original mix, but that squiggly little synth he gets in there just begs for a Snoop Dogg mash-up, don't it? Southside gangster lovin'...

And for those of you who enjoy our daily illustrations, prints are available. Contact the artist, or visit his website. He likes to be called "Dan," from what we hear. Today's piece is entitled "Space Agriculture," and is taken from the "Red Planet" series. Oh, word...
