"Happy Audio"

Well, it's Friday. We should probably be on here hyping the hottest dance ish for the weekend, getting dudes all ready to rock out properly. Instead, we're going to do the exact opposite and drop a boatload of experimental electronics and textural noise...because it snowed last night. Let's be honest, who's really trying to listen to Justice when they're driving through snow covered forests and galavanting through a veritable winter wonderland? We're not. We'll be filling our collective heads with Mego Editions' re-issue of Fennesz's class "Endless Summer" LP, because it's magical. We'll also be revisiting some older classics from one of our favorite labels (ever), Kranky Records. Albums from wonderful people like Keith Fullerton Whitman and Chihei Hatakeyama - some good ol' liquid white noise, granular haze, guitar tone head jams - that's what days like this really call for: the sounds of stasis, meditation and renewal. We'll make up for this weekend lameness on Monday and start your week off right with a righteous kick in the pants...we promise. For now, just run out and pick yourself up some nice ambience for the day and relax. After last night's Herbert jam out, you probably need it.

Frosty:

Fennesz, "Happy Audio" (YSI)

Chihei Hatakeyama, "Granular Haze" (YSI)

Keith Fullerton Whitman, "Acgtr Svp" (YSI)
